Visibility in LLMs works differently. And most people measure it wrong. In classic marketing, the click was the currency. In ChatGPT, Claude or Perplexity, people click out noticeably less. They read the answer, keep the conversation going and at most head to Google afterwards or type the brand in directly. On the dashboard this channel looks almost worthless. Yet it has already shaped how people see the brand.
With complex products, this gap between tracking and reality grows especially wide. Anyone who judges the channel by clicks alone underestimates it massively.
What the evening confirmed for me above all is that you cannot buy your way into being cited by an LLM. Many still try through the back door, with affiliate deals or flat fees for good reviews. Whether that holds remains to be seen. My money would be on whoever has real depth on a clearly defined topic.
For me that means focus. Not a hundred topics, but the 25 to 30 prompts that actually matter. Branded and non-branded. And building substance there instead of renting reach.
